People around us

Today, had hour long conversations w/ 2 people who are well respected, established, passionate, and fellow brothers & sisters in Christ. Thinking back, even though our conversation was not about Christ per se, I can definitely see Christ working in their lives and they are reflecting the love of Christ in everything they do.

SJ- my SOCL honors professor, graduated from UH a while back, studied PhD in Demographics from UPenn, worked on a public health research project in South Africa for several years, and is now back to states to take premed pre-req classe, work as professor, and eventually attending medical school and become a doctor. I shared a bit about PAIR at our class for a meeting announcement, and she was really interested in working with the refugee kids, so she invited me to talk to her more. She has shared before in class that she is Christian and that drives her and affects the way she treats others (one testimony was that she forgave her dad who divorced her mother). And today when i visited her office, she had the "Utmost for the Highest" devotional book on her table, and I was just encouraged to see even though she is so busy (being both professor AND student), that she still keeps up with devotional/quiet time.  It's just amazing to see people following Christ's calling for them for certain purpose, and even if that means a total change of careers, they would still follow His calling.

SL- CEO of a company that donates 50% of their profits to non-profit organizations that are affiliated with Christianity and work to spread the gospel, i.e. Living Water, I am Second, Aid Sudan, etc... found out about his company through PAIR and BASIC peoples. A very friendly person, strong & outspoken Christian, and honest businessman. Also encouraged by his innovative company model to put God first.
